A couple of weeks ago we decided to squeeze in another fishing trip before school started and life got too busy. So, we headed up to Navajo Lake with high hopes of someone catching something, anything. John caught the first fish of the day, it was a nice little trout. The kids were slowly starting to lose interest when all they were catching was plants. Then next thing you know, Maddie felt a little tug on her line and started to walk backwards, not reeling her line. All of a sudden a fish came flipping and flopping out of the water and she freaked out. It was the funniest thing ever. John rushed over to help her pull it in, McKenna ran and grabbed the net. We were all cheering for her and making a lot of noise. I'm sure the other people fishing thought we were a little crazy. Maddie's fish was "gigantic" and she was pretty darn proud. We all were!
This was taken right after she caught it. I love the look of pure joy on her face!
Maddie showing off her "gigantic" fish!
McKenna helped grab it out of the water. Did I mention that we caught a lot of plants too? Luckily there was a fish with this one :)
Mason lost interest in waiting for the fish to bite. He entertained himself by going "hiking".
And one last picture... Malorie has been the best baby ever this summer. She has been on every outing with us and has been such an adventurer.
