Busy Busy Week

I am soooooooooo glad it is Friday. This has been such a busy, hectic, crazy, fun, and tiring week. Monday the first grade teachers (me and two others) dropped the ball and forgot about celebrating Cinco de Mayo. So Monday night we were off in search of pinata's and other Fiesta goodies. Note to self: Next year do not shop for Cinco de Mayo on Cinco de Mayo. The only pinata left was a "Chelsie" sized Hello Kitty that we renamed "Hola Gato". We celebrated "Seis de Mayo" instead and our students had a blast. We sucessfully fed 75 first graders until they were stuffed, learned some Spanish, learned a dance, made maracas, and busted open Hola Gato. With that out of the way we had some end of year tests to take, mother's day gifts to make, and our last field trip to finish planning. It has been crazy busy. The girls were in a play at school last night but I will post about that later. Tonight we are going to a rodeo that some of my students are competing in which should be a lot of fun. Yay for weekends, this one couldn't get here soon enough. We only have ten days of school left, but who is counting.
P.S. Hola Gato would not bust open so finally after having about twenty students try we had to send in Mr. V . He busted her legs off and 75 kids dog piled for candy. Good times!!!

Your post actually made me miss teaching, and that never happens! It sounds like you are a great teacher. I would have loved to have 1st graders. Enjoy the last 10 days of school, they will go by so slow, yet too fast to get anything done!
